Kranjska Gora, Slovenia – 8th to 10th September 2023
Registrations will soon again be open for Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB, the largest Slovenian trail event, which in 2022 welcomed more than 2200 registered runners from more than 50 countries.
The event will be traditionally hosted by Kranjska Gora in 2023 as well. But next year the event will take place one week earlier, so save the date: September 8th-10th 2023.
NEW! For 2023, we are preparing quite a few novelties, which we will reveal in the upcoming weeks and months. This mainly relates to the routes themselves, where we’ll also reveal one completely new route! Changes are also to be expected at refreshment stations and start locations … but more about that soon. 😊
Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB will continue to be part of the elite UTMB World Series in 2023 as well, which brings together the most iconic trail running events from around the world!
Why should you fill out our pre-registration form?
- You will receive a notification as soon as registrations open (probably mid-December).
- You’ll get a chance to register at a special pre-registration price – however, the number of available spots with this special price will be limited!

What can you expect at Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB?
1. The most iconic locations in Slovenia
Our event connects the entire Julian Alps, so if you choose our longest route, you will get to experience Soča Valley as an introduction, then admire Lake Bled and finally finish your adventure in the beautiful Kranjska Gora, surrounded by Alps.
2. Triglav National Park – Slovenian treasure
Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB offers beautiful views of the Triglav National Park and the highest Slovenian mountain – Triglav 2864 m.
3. Scenic trails and beautiful running ridges
Our routes offer you exploration of some of the most scenic trails in Slovenia, which run along some beautiful ridges on the outskirts of the Triglav National Park.
2019 – Kranjska Gora Trail Run
The first edition of our event, which at the time was still called Kranjska Gora Trail Run. 1000 runners from 20 countries participated at our first edition.
2020 – cancelled due to coronavirus
2021 – Julian Alps Trail Run
The event is renamed to Julian Alps Trail Run and, through its longest routes, connects the entire Julian Alps. We welcomed more than 1200 runners from 30 countries at our second edition.
2022 – Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB
We became part of the premier elite running series: UTMB World Series. The event gained more international visibility, which was also visible in our registrations – we welcomed more than 2200 runners from more than 50 countries.
2023 – We can’t wait to write a new chapter in our story with your help!
